Troubleshooting
Some phone settings such as screen timeouts, automatic call answering with hands-free kits, and power management cannot be changed using the application. Refer to your phone's owner's manual for information about changing these settings.
(Garmin Mobile 20 users) If your phone is not able to establish a hands-free connection with your device, try closing the application before performing the one-time hands-free pairing process through your phone's Bluetooth interface.
(Garmin Mobile 20 users) When adding the Garmin Mobile 20 as a trusted device, you may need to add it as a Hands-free device and not a Car Kit.
(Garmin Mobile 20 users) When using a hands-free connection, you may have to adjust your phone's earpiece volume in order to maximize the audio output of your Garmin Mobile 20.
If your device does not acquire satellites, try one or more of the following:
- Make sure the GPS antenna is turned on and connected to your phone.
- Verify that the GPS antenna is unobstructed. You must be outdoors or in a vehicle and have a clear view of the sky. Solid materials (except untinted glass), buildings, and dense trees can block satellite signals.
- Make sure the GPS has enough time to initialize. When the GPS is turned on for the first time, it may take a few minutes to initialize.
- If you have traveled more than 600 miles with the GPS receiver turned off, set your location on the map.
- Turn your GPS antenna and your phone off, and then turn them on again.
